Quote from Shane: It is so hot here today. More than anyone expected. We are having serious overheating issues. Our team car #31 has already blown up the engine as a result of heat. We have had to back down the pace significantly to keep the temps stabilized. Hopefully when the night comes we can start to push again.

We will need luck to swing our way to make up any more positions. Then we will have to back off again some once the sun comes up.

6:52am Shane Update: Luck didn't go the direction I was thinking of. A fitting to the transmission oil cooler broke. Had to pull the entire exhaust system to fix it – Very time costly repair.

9:24 am Shane Update: I was fast this morning!!! I tried to push as hard as I could before the sun got up. Just enough light so I could see the dirty parts of the track, the marbles and debris is horrible, but it was still cool enough I could hammer down. I think I finally got the hang of this place as I was 2 seconds faster than my qualifying time ☺
