SHANE LEWIS READY FOR HOMETOWN RACE

-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-

JUPITER, Fla., Sept. 23, 2003 - As a resident of Jupiter, Florida Shane
Lewis knows the streets of downtown of Miami as well as anyone in the
American Le Mans Series (ALMS). However, this weekend, Lewis' knowledge
of the shortcuts through the beautiful, beach-lined city won't help him
as he pilots the No. 63 ACEMCO Motorsports Ferrari 360 GT Modena in
round-eight of the nine race ALMS season. The two hour and forty-five
minute street race is 17-time 24 Hour race starter's second in Miami.
Lewis, who is considered one of the sports' premier test and development
drivers, was recruited to lead Graham Nash Motorsports' effort in a
Saleen S7R at the inaugural Grand Prix Americas in 2002. Working with
Saleen on a number of occasions developing both Mustang-based race cars
and the S7 gave Lewis special insight as he charged through the streets
to a sixth-place GTS class finish last year. In 2003, Lewis joined the
ACEMCO team at the season-opening event in Sebring, Fla. and has
directed the effort to five GT class top-ten finishes, including two-top
five finishes, and into the class lead at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le
Mans.

"Living in Jupiter, the Grand Prix Americas is my home event and I think
that gives me a little edge," remarked Lewis when asked about racing so
close to his home. "I train in this weather, I know the best
restaurants, I can ride my motorcycle down to the circuit. It's like
owning your own track. Because we race all over the world, we don't get
to race in front of our friends and neighbors from here in Florida too
often. That makes this real special. All the guys from the Shane Lewis
Fan Club will be packing-up Turn-10 at Sebring and coming down too so
we'll have a real big following. This event is definitely one of my
favorites on the ALMS circuit. I'm excited to see how well the ACEMCO
Ferrari performs this weekend. What could be better than driving a
Ferrari in downtown Miami?"

Shane Lewis is the 1998 Professional Sports Car Racing Rising Star award
winner and is a multiple race winner in IMSA, SCCA Pro and Grand-Am
sanctioned events. He has raced in three 24 Hours of Le Mans, six 24
Hours of Daytona, seven 12 Hours of Sebring and four Petit Le Mans.
Lewis, a regular top-five finisher in ALMS competition, has earned ALMS
podium finishes at Silverstone, the Nurburgring and Portland and is one
of the few drivers with experience in the four major classes of
international sports car racing (LMP 900, LMP 675, GTS and GT). He
drives the ACEMCO Motorsports Ferrari 360 GT Modena in the ALMS and the
Nuzzo Motorsports Mini Cooper S in Grand-Am Cup.

The Grand Prix Americas will be run on Saturday, September 27th at 4 pm
(EDT). Live race coverage can be seen on SPEED.
